Master craftsmanship and sculptural expression capture the essence of steam bent wood in what was to be the Danish architect and furniture designer’s last chair. I am very connected to this chair because I was working as a cabinetmaker in the PP Møbler workshop when Ejnar Pedersen developed it. This was in 1979. And that was it.

After receiving a Master’s Degree in Architecture in 2000 from the Royal Academy of Fine Arts in Copenhagen, Høstbo worked as an architect before establishing galleries in Copenhagen, Paris, and Zurich for the Dansk Møbelkunst Gallery. Catherine’s College is a sculpture. The workshop at Fritz Hansen is a place of its own.

Later, Messerschmidt attended the Viennese Academy of Fine Arts and assisted at a foundry. In 1769, Messerschmidt taught at the Viennese Academy and established his own workshop.
