Warming Up Watercolour & Gouache 51 x 39cm After a break from painting to work on other jobs, I have finally finished Mr Badger's kitchen. I'm very pleased with the final result but it does feel like I took longer on it than I should have. A possible reason for the drawn out painting process could be I decided to have red and black tiles, and a complicated Persian rug on the kitchen floor.

It was with great delight I welcomed the news that They Draw and Cook were now accepting ANY foodie related images to their site. Yes for 'Feast' images can be submitted without a recipe!! Some of you may have seen snippets on IG of my work in progress based on food over the last year. I do have entire food themed collections in the Surface design part of my website now.

Every so often, I'll stop for a second and be hit with the realisation that I haven't drawn anything in ages. It can be surprising how little physical drawing time can go in to running an illustration business sometimes! Yesterday was one of those days, and I fancied a little bit of a warm up before delving in to some serious work. You may have seen The Big Draw floating around on social media or the news recently - they're, very basically, a huge campaign to get people drawing.

I have always been a fan of old school photography. You know the sort; the one that involves taking a leap and committing to pressing the shutter button and seeing what fate has dealt you instead of composing 100 shots on your phone and picking the best. Some don't always work out but the ones that do seem to be more special somehow. Perhaps it's because you have the actual photographs in your paws to show friends or put on your noticeboard?

'Mason's Joy' is causing a lot of disharmony on the canal. This will be the final painting in my series of animal characters influenced by 'The Wind In The Willows'. The setting is based on Horton bridge, on the Kennett And Avon canal near Devizes. In order to get the appropriate photographic reference, I took a very nice five minute drive, with my son Arthur, down to the bridge.

As of April 2015, Warby Parker has been valued at a cool $1.2 billion. Quite impressive for a young eyewear company.

I have been so busy attending what feels like every single show at NY, London, Milan and Paris Fashion weeks that I haven't had a chance to stop and update my blog with the most exciting news ever. My makeup and stationary collection for Boots is now available in store and online - Yay!
