Spending her time between Beijing and New York, Xiangni was trained at the School of Visual Arts in 2016. She subsequently transitioned from illustration to fine art by enrolling in the MFA Fine Arts program at Pratt Institute in 2020. This doesn't mean her background in illustration was time wasted, though.

Through those, I realised that I could pursue art as a profession. That's when I decided to go to an art college.". And that's exactly what she did in 2016, studying Visual Arts at the Faculty of Fine Arts at The Maharaja Sayajirao University of Baroda and graduating in 2020, during the height of the pandemic.

And she certainly knows what she's doing as a teacher, having spent two decades lecturing at the School of Visual Arts, along with positions at the Cooper Union, Yale University and the Tyler School of Art.

Meet the students Sara Dobson is a British multidisciplinary artist currently studying MA Fine Art: Digital at Central Saint Martins, a course she began in 2022 and will complete in 2024.
