London-based graphic designer Kieron Lewis has designed a new take on W.E.B. Du Bois' 1920s magazine for black children titled The New Brownies' Book. Du Bois released the first-ever magazine for African-American youth. A century later comes the updated version of the beloved magazine.
Creative agency FCB Chicago was awarded a Black Pencil in bookdesign for its work on The Gun Violence History Book for Illinois Council Against Handgun Violence. The book centres on a loophole in American law that enables gun violence. Design had a strong showing. Black Pencil winners.
